Android is an open source platform for mobile development, it has surpassed expectations over the last several years and become the most widely utilized mobile platform. In the Android Programming courses students learn the architecture, API and techniques required to create robust, high performance, enterprise applications for Android devices. These hands-on courses, start from the beginning explaining how to acquire and install the Android platform, environment and architecture. Courses then ramp up, covering topics from GUI development to more advanced topics like creating and using Android Services allowing students to quickly become productive in working with the Android platform.
In this course, Android Development _ Introduction, topics include architecture, application fundamentals, the User Interface and Views. Other topics include a discussion of how to package and publish an Android Application in the Android Market or on a Web site.
Prerequisites: There are no specific prerequisites for this course but prior Java programming experience and acquaintance with the Eclipse IDE is strongly recommended.

VIRTUAL OPTION is available for this class. Choose “VIRTUAL – Live at Your Desk” from the Course Choice drop-down menu. Students still participate in classes, but do so virtually via a computer and internet connection using WebEx.
