jQuery is a JavaScript library supported by all major web browsers that simplifies creating rich, web-based user interfaces. It simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and Ajax interactions for rapid web development. In this hands-on course students learn how to use the jQuery UI library to develop captivating user interfaces for their Web sites and applications and how to simplify client-side scripting tasks. Topics include animation effects, interaction helpers, jQuery selectors, interface components like Datepickers and Accordions, DOM traversal and modification, how to develop plugins to extend jQuery’s capabilities and Ajax.

Prerequisites: HTML5 and CSS3: Essentials, HTML5 and CSS3: Advanced, and Using JavaScript or equivalent experience.

VIRTUAL OPTION is available for this class. Choose “VIRTUAL – Live at Your Desk” from the Course Choice drop-down menu. Students still participate in classes, but do so virtually via a computer and internet connection using WebEx.
